For the second consecutive year, SAMPOL, through its business unit SAMPOL Digital, will be present at the 39th edition of the International Tourism Fair (FITUR), which hosts the Madrid fair (Ifema) from 23 to 25 January. SAMPOL will be located at stand 10B27 in Pavilion 10.
SAMPOL, which, among other sectors, develops its activity within the tourism sector (hotel sector), has executed more than 2,500 projects in more than 300 hotels in 17 countries and 4 continents.
In its continuous process of innovation, SAMPOL Digital has introduced this technology and its associated services in the hotel world, which today is known as RETiA FTTR (Fiber To The Room). This is the latest in telecommunications access technology based on fiber optics to bring IP services (Internet, TV, telephony, @IP, Internet of Things …) to the hotel room: all services unified through a simple fiber optic thread. We are talking about moving from an analog telecommunications network to a digital network based on fiber optics.
SAMPOL Digital has already connected more than 25,000 hotel rooms between Spain and the Caribbean in GPON optical fiber. Its forecast is to continue adding rooms around the world in the coming months thanks to this technology, which is consolidated as one of the star projects and “Punta de Lanza” of the company in 2018. It is a global standard, the most advanced technology for data, voice and video services; a very important tool for hotels to improve their communication, increase productivity, reduce costs in the long term and be at the forefront of technology.
For SAMPOL it is an honor to attend for the second consecutive year FITUR, a global meeting point for tourism professionals and a reference for the receptive and issuing markets of the sector. Its objective is to show the sector the advantages of this leap from analogue to digital technology, from the disappearance of copper to the irruption of optical fibre, which is already being considered a revolution in the field of telecommunications. SAMPOL Digital was a pioneer in implementing this technology and after their insistence and faith in the project, many hoteliers have implemented it and others are considering it after confirming the great advantages provided by this passive network. SAMPOL confirms that RETIA FTTR has been consolidated as the hotelier’s priority option when it comes to deploying its telecommunications in reforms or new works.
